Do we have to use the black "VEX" zip ties, or can we use the same size zip ties, but in another color. By the way, i mean FVC Legal.
Thanks in Advance :)

You may use any zip ties that are absolutely 100% identical except that the color may vary. There is an official clarification on the FVC forum about this, you can look it up for the exact wording.

I would be very careful in your selection of zip ties. We have found that there is a considerable difference in stiffness between those supplied by VexLabs and those purchased elsewhere. My firm uses hundreds of them per month and purchases from several sources; none were identical.

lol, when i saw this topic I thought i was going to see a discussion on team 3541 the Zip Ties from last year. They did do quite well (and i have the rights to say their robot was [horrible even though it was 4-0 in the championship] because I drove it)

I greatly respect the Zip Ties 3541, having a chance to compete with and against them at the Michigan Regionals and indirectly at the World Championships. Even though their robot was not exceptional, their driver and strategy were always consistantly good. Its very unlikely to get 4-0 just by luck.
Also, they always acted with gracious professionalism and respected other teams.
