VEX Design Challenge

Entry: Vex Essay about Free Range Robotics - New Zealand Homschool Team

Challenge Summary

This challenge is to write a short essay on what exactly VEX Robotics means to you. Tell the judges your own story of your involvement on a competition team, in a classroom, or as a hobbyist working with VEX. Perhaps VEX robotics has made you rethink your career plans, or made you want to study engineering in college, or helped you understand physics better. Maybe you have a friend or family member who learned something valuable from their VEX experience. However VEX robotics has improved your understanding, inspired you to try something you didn't know you could do, or even changed the course of your education - we want to hear about it.

Entry Detail

While this is a compelling story, it seems more of a summary of your career in vex, rather than what vex has done for you.

Actually, I agree! I only wrote this in 10 minutes, and didn't even have time to go over it - I only read it through once before entering it! I wanted to say more about the impact of VEX, but it was hard enough just trying to fit our story into only 250 words.

The writing was very clear, but, aside from the final paragraph, there wasn't a very broad mention of the impact of VEX beyond the robotics club. In other words, I think the content could've been a bit deeper.
