The Enviobot Recycler is a mini robot that recycles standard size pop cans, easily and efficiently.
The way in which the robot works is that we have a motorized guide with feelers that picks up the can and moves it to the crusher system. We designed the crusher to squeeze the can by moving the guide rail to the crusher component thereby crushing the can completely. Then, the rail guide lowers and then spews out the can into the recycling bin.
With the importance of recycling today, we see every household in the near future having a mini recycler which would be a useful household item promoting recycling.

    this is a tough challenge with the vex motors ! Speed is definitely your enemy for this video concept. But keep up the great work !

    the real challenge with this was making it work with only 4 motors. I wish we had more so we could make it faster stronger. The tricky part was making the can grabber work with one motor bc each side had to spin the opposite way. Additionally making the device light enough to drive around but strong enough to withstand the forces required to crush a can.

    The crushing is pretty normal since the gears but maybe you could have add an extra motor for the lifting mechanism and you could have put a bin in the back so that every time it crushes it doesn't have to go to the bin

    nice video but you should speed up the bot during the can crushing
