how'd it drive? turning good? fast? how many motors did the arm use? (well the whole mechanism kinda thing )
They both drive quite well. Its RWD and most of the weight is in the back so the front wheels did not have much load on them and they purely acted as casters (by design). It was 2 motor drive per side, which is the perfect motor number since each motor can draw only 2 amps max and the controller can only supply 4 amps so each motor got 1 amp. Anymore can cause problems with power.
The ring lift used 1 motor for belt, 1 motor for intake, 1 motor for lift, and 1 servo for ring sorter.

truly amazing I could stare at those pictures for hours, thanks for posting them!
My question: is there a bill of materials for this robot? (MAX4, I guess...) seems like you guys put quite a bit of money into both of them! But I guess it was a worthwhile investment

Awesome robot. I loved your last match in Atlanta, no rings were left on the field.
The one part I love most about your robot is the springs. What an awesome idea to pull the clutches apart and use the springs.
Great Job!
